Holland Staying an Addick - Ipswich Town News

Former Town skipper Matt Holland has signed a new one-year deal with Charlton. Meanwhile, Darren Bent's move from the Valley to Spurs is expected to go through today or tomorrow, as reported overnight by TWTD.

Holland says he is pleased to be staying with the Addicks: "I'm glad to get it sorted and I'm really pleased to be staying.

"The Championship is a tough league with a lot more games, but I think we have the ability in this squad to get back up. That's the aim this season, of course.

"It's been a funny summer really with the contract situation, and now I can't wait to get started.”

Spurs are reported to have finally agreed to pay Charlton's £17 million valuation of Bent, although whether part of that figure will be in the form or top-ups is as yet unclear.

Town are due 20% of the profit the Addicks make on the £2.6 million they paid the Blues for the England striker.
