Rovers: Jeffers May Stay - Ipswich Town News
Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams says Town target Franny Jeffers could stay at Ewood Park if a deal is not agreed this weekend. The Blues have made their third bid - likely to be their final offer - for the former loanee with another club also in talks with the Lancashire side.
Williams said: "We are in dialogue with a couple of interested parties over Franny.
"I think if a deal is not done by this weekend then we carry on. We have said we don't want to stand in his way, but these things tend to have a normal lifespan and if this one is not done in the next 48 hours I suspect he will remain with us."
Jeffers is boss Jim Magilton's number one priority this summer, but if no deal can be agreed with Blackburn the Town manager has other options including former Blue Pablo Couñago, released by Málaga at the end of the season. We understand the ex-Spain U21 international has already been sounded out regarding a possible return to Portman Road.
Malcolm Christie, another potential target, continues to talk with Stoke City about a move to the Britannia Stadium.
Meanwhile, tickets have gone on sale for Town's home friendly with Panathinaikos on Sunday, 5th August (KO 3pm). Season ticket holders get a discount with seats costing £2 for under-16s, £8 for concessions, students and under-20s and £12 for adults.
Non-season ticket holders' seats cost £3 for under-16s, £10 for concessions, students and under-20s and £15 for adults.
