Naylor's Treatment Begins - Ipswich Town News

Richard Naylor has started to get to work on getting himself back up and running. He has now seen two specialists in the last week or so and work has started on correcting the biomechanical problems which have been afflicting him.

The problems caused by the difference in leg-length recently identified by a specialist, three quarters of an inch, is being worked on. Naylor is having inserts put in his boots as part of a treatment known as orthotics. This has also been used to treat Titus Bramble's tendinitis problems which kept him out for long periods a couple of seasons back.

Naylor said: "Already a few millimetres has been put in my footwear and it will gradually be increased. At the moment I’m getting used to walking with the additions in place. When I feel right with that I’ll try and get down to something on the training ground. I’ve been encouraged by what the specialist has had to say and desperately hope that perhaps we may be on course for success. The specialist has helped many players in the past and I’m hoping he can do something for me as well."

If things work out well Naylor could be back for Town as soon as the end of this season.

This week's John Scales column is now available on the website. John talks about his comeback from injury, Martijn Reuser, Hermann Hreidarsson, Marcus Stewart and the new man Chris Makin. Find it here: http://www.twtd.co.uk/scales
