Miller Deal Done - Ipswich Town News

Town will complete the signing of Tommy Miller on a two-year deal on Thursday when the 28-year-old puts pen to paper on his contract. The midfielder joins the Blues for the third time on a free transfer after being released by Sunderland at the end of last season.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "I can confirm that we have agreed a deal with Tommy and he has passed a medical.

"He's gone home to get a few things sorted out and to pick up some clothes, and will be back at the club on Thursday morning to sign his contract and start training."

TWTD first linked Miller with a return to the Blues late in Joe Royle's reign as manager in May 2006. Jim Magilton continued to target his former team-mate once he took over as boss, with a loan move breaking down last November.

The former Hartlepool man joined Preston North End on a short-term basis instead, where he made four starts and three sub appearances.

Miller, who was a schoolboy with Town before being released as a 15-year-old, was released by Sunderland having had virtually no involvement after Roy Keane's appointment as manager. He had joined the Black Cats from Town on a free transfer in the summer of 2005, having left Hartlepool for £850,000 in 2001.

Last week, Miller was reported to be weighing up whether to accept deals from Town and Preston.
