U19 Call for Casement - Ipswich Town News

Defender Chris Casement has been called into the Northern Ireland U19 squad playing at the Milk Cup later this month. The Northern Ireland-based competition is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Casement's side play in the 'elite' competition and face Turkey at Coleraine on Monday, 30th July, then Chile at Ballymena two days later. Israel, Wales and Denmark are also involved with the final and place play-offs on Friday, 3rd August.

The Town central defender played for his country in last year's tournament, the hosts finishing in third place.

The Blues have previously sent teams to the Milk Cup but are not competing this time around. A year ago an U15 side reached the quarter-finals before being eliminated.

Town's U15s are taking part in the Umbro Galway Cup in August, a tournament in which they reached the semi-finals last year.

The competition will be played at the Drom, home of Salthill Devon, the west of Ireland club where Alan Lee's father Harry was a player. The tournament runs from August 7th to 11th.
