Stoke Deny Williams Bid - Ipswich Town News
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has denied showing interest in Town midfielder Gavin Williams. A tabloid newspaper earlier in the week claimed the Potters were ready to pay £400,000 for the zany midfielder.
Pulis says he was keen on Williams a while ago but is now concerned with other areas of his side: "I quite fancied him when he was at Yeovil a season or two back, but it's just a case of needing a different kind of player right now.
"Gavin has good feet and will come inside and play in the gullies, but we need someone on the left who can get past people and whip crosses in, like Liam Lawrence does on the right."
Birmingham were linked with Williams in a tabloid earlier today.
