Town to Receive ÂŁ775,909 - Ipswich Town News
Town are set to receive an additional ÂŁ775,909 this season after the Football League's solidarity payment from the Premiership was revealed to be ÂŁ90 million over the next three years. The cash is the Football League's share of the Premiership's new ÂŁ2.7 billion global television deal.
The first season's instalment will be ÂŁ31.8 million, with Championship clubs receiving differing amounts depending on their performance. The precise figure each club receives is worked out based on their final league position in the previous season and the number of sides bouncing back into the Premiership, thereby freeing up parachute cash to go instead to Championship teams.
Wolves, who finished fifth in the Championship last season, receive ÂŁ1,383,602 of additional income with Southampton in sixth gaining ÂŁ75,000 less than that figure. This ÂŁ75,000 drop continues down to 13th where Cardiff will get ÂŁ775,909, as will all the clubs below them, including Town who ended 2006/07 in 14th.
All sides in League One will receive ÂŁ103,480 and all League Two clubs ÂŁ68,987. Each season's cash also includes ÂŁ5.4 million to go towards youth development and ÂŁ4 million for community investment.
