Jim: Miller in My Plans - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton has insisted that defender Ian Miller is still in his plans, despite allowing the 23-year-old to move back to Darlington on loan until January. Miller has made only one sub appearance for the Blues since signing from Bury Town early last season, spending most of his time out on loan.
Magilton told the club site: "Ian enjoyed his time at Darlington last season and their manager, Dave Penney, who I know very well, likes him, so it makes sense to allow him to go up there for another spell.
"We are well covered for central defenders at the moment and Ian going on loan will allow him to play regular first team football over the first half of the season, which will be beneficial to him and us.
"We will monitor his progress up there during games, but he will also train with us for the first half of each week, so he will still be very much part of Ipswich Town.
"I'm sure he will come back in January all the better for five months of regular first team football."
