Navas Move Still On? - Ipswich Town News
Town are still interested in signing Málaga defender César Navas, according to reports in Spain. The 27-year-old has returned home after breaking a metatarsal and is expected to be out of action for two months.
The clubs had already discussed a fee for the former Gimnà stic de Tarragona loanee prior to the centre-half picking up the injury in Tuesday's friendly at Crawley, and talks will continue over the next few days.
Navas is set to undergo surgery on his right foot and Town's medical staff are keeping in close contact with their Málaga counterparts.
Reports earlier in the week said Málaga want €1 million (£670,000) for the 6ft 4in tall central defender, while the Blues had offered €600,000 (£400,000).
