Navas Talks Continue - Ipswich Town News
Town are continuing to negotiate with Málaga regarding the signing of central defender César Navas, according to reports in the Spanish media. Navas returned to Spain last week after breaking a metatarsal in Tuesday's friendly at Crawley Town.
The 27-year-old impressed the Town management during his time at Portman Road and talks over a permanent move have continued, despite the former Gimnà stic de Tarragona loanee's injury sidelining him for two months.
Reports early last week indicated that Málaga want €1 million (£670,000) for the 6ft 4in tall central defender, while the Blues had offered €600,000 (£400,000).
Meanwhile, the weekend's only UK Town tabloid rumour claimed that the Blues are interested in former Norwich City striker Paul McVeigh. The Northern Ireland international, released by the Canaries at the end of last season, is currently on trial with Italian Serie B side Pisa, but the Blues and Burnley, where McVeigh spent time on loan last season, are also said to be interested.
