Blues in Cricket Action - Ipswich Town News
The Town squad will be in cricketing action on Thursday when they take on Ipswich and East Suffolk at Twenty20 in Chantry Park (5.45pm start). The teams will be playing for the SEH Windows and Doors Trophy.
Boss Jim Magilton says he is looking forward to donning his pads: "We have a number of cricketers at the club and it will be chance to try something different.
"And we will be going all out to win the trophy. We are treating the game as part of our pre-season schedule.”
Understood to be amongst the more expert willow-wielders in the Town squad is January signing David Wright, while Magilton and Matt Richards were in the side which played the same opposition in another match four years ago.
Sky Sports and the two local TV channels are expected to have cameras present at the game. Spectators are advised to arrive early with a large crowd anticipated.
