Two Called Up - Ipswich Town News

Matt Holland and Hermann Hreidarsson have been called up to their respective international sides for World Cup qualifiers. Holland's Ireland side meet Cyprus while Hermann's Icelanders meet Bulgaria.

There had been fears that the Ireland game might be postponed due to the foot and mouth crisis, but this is now not though to be a problem.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks is featured in the forthcoming BBC series The Men Who Changed Football. The three part programme can be seen at 9pm on Tuesday 13th March, Tuesday 20th March and Tuesday 27th March. Sheepshanks is heavily featured in the last of the three programmes.

Tomorrow's Academy games see the victorious U17s play away at Reading while the U19s are at home to Arsenal. Wednesday sees the youngsters take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final at Portman Road (KO 7pm).

Tickets cost £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. Bryan Klug said of his team: "This young team have played extremely well so far, coming up against strong opposition and we are confident of a good game on Wednesday. To be successful in both the League and Cup competitions shows the strong team spirit amongst all the boys".

Yet another reserve game is off. The match scheduled for Monday 12th March with Arsenal has been postponed at the request of the Gunners. Yesterday the Forest game was called off as was the previous week's match against Wimbledon.

Earlier in the season Town's reserve side was somewhat taken apart by their Arsenal counterparts with the Londoners running out 3-0 winners.

There will be around 600 tickets on sale on the turnstiles for Town fans at tomorrow's game with Aston Villa. These will be available from 1.30pm.

West Ham tickets sold out on the first day of sale and the ballot for Coventry tickets will begin on Monday.
