TWTD understands that former Town loanee Franny Jeffers could line up against the Blues for Sheffield Wednesday in next week's season opener. The Owls are the latest club to show interest in the Blackburn Rovers forward.
Town's long-running attempt to sign the one-time England frontman collapsed last month due to the player's ÂŁ10,000-a-week wage demands. Cardiff interest in the ex-Everton, Arsenal and Charlton man also cooled on hearing Jeffers's required terms.
Meanwhile, Birmingham City were represented at Sunday's game against Panathinaikos with Danny Haynes likely to have been the object of their interest.
The Midlanders were reported to be keeping tabs on Haynes earlier in the summer with manager Steve Bruce watching Town's friendly at Kettering. Town chairman David Sheepshanks was subsequently reported to have said that the club had not received an approach from Birmingham regarding the 19-year-old.
