Jim Happy With Pre-Season - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton says he is happier with Town's pre-season preparations than he was a year ago. The Town manager started pre-season three weeks earlier and played more friendlies than in previous years.

Magilton told the club site: "I have now got the players I have brought in and moulded the team in the sort of shape I want.

"And there were certain aspects of pre-season [last year] I did not particularly like.

"So this time I have had an opportunity to go about it as I saw fit and on the whole it has been very positive - the feedback from all the players has been they are feeling fit and sharp.

"I felt last year we went into our first game a little bit undercooked and not prepared as I would have liked, so I am eliminating any excuses and getting the players focused on the job in hand."
