Leabon Joins Boston - Ipswich Town News

Released academy striker Kieron Leabon has joined Blue Square North club Boston United. Leabon has been on trial with the Lincolnshire club, which was relegated from League Two at the end of last season and then demoted down a further division after breaking rules relating to their administration.

Leabon was previously on trial at Rushden and Diamonds.

Meanwhile, Town and West Brom are reported to have denied yesterday's newspaper reports linking the Blues with Danish defender Martin Albrechtsen.

Former Blues boss George Burley is reported to have had an £800,000 bid for Plymouth's David Norris turned down. Burley is keen to lure Norris to Southampton as a replacement for Pele, who has signed for West Brom.

Last month Town made an enquiry regarding Norris but were rebuffed by the Pilgrims.

Elsewhere, former Blues winger Sean Friars has joined Newry City from Cliftonville. Ex-Northern Ireland U21 international Friars, who made one senior sub appearance for Town against Crewe in the 1999/00 promotion season, was previously with Newry after his release from Portman Road in 2001.
