De Vos: No Penalty - Ipswich Town News

Skipper Jason De Vos was left bemused by referee Paul Taylor's decision to award a penalty against him late in injury time during Town's Carling Cup exit to the MK Dons. However, the Canadian admitted the Blues were poor.

De Vos told the club site: "I'm not sure how the referee saw it as a penalty.

"He said I pushed their player down but he was backing in, so it was a strange one. The other lads all said it wasn't a penalty, but that isn't going to change the result.

"We were all disappointed with our performance and it was a long way short of what we can achieve.

"We have to give credit to MK Dons. They came out and really gave it a go and caused us problems, and the game could have been over before we got back into it really.

"The players all know we have to bounce back from the defeat straight away and that means turning in a much better performance when we go to Plymouth on Saturday."
