O'Callaghan in Brighton - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder George O'Callaghan is in Brighton this evening for talks regarding his proposed move to the Seagulls with the deal expected to be completed tomorrow.

Reports in Sussex put the fee at an initial £60,000 plus £15,000 more based on appearances.

Seagulls' boss Dean Wilkins watched Town's reserves in action in their friendly against Bristol Rovers on Wednesday afternoon as he continues to monitor two other Albion targets, Dean Bowditch, who they want take on loan for a second time, and Matt Richards.

Brighton first took an interest in former Cork City midfielder O'Callaghan after he impressed during the recent reserves game between the two clubs. QPR and Colchester have also been linked with the 27-year-old, while Town and Sheffield Wednesday have both denied that the Owls are interested in the 2005 Eircom League Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Town's Saturday opponents Watford have signed striker Nathan Ellington from West Brom for £4.25 million, while Southampton have had a bid of £1 million accepted by Plymouth for Town target David Norris.
