O'Callaghan Move Off - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder George O'Callaghan is reported to have turned down the chance to join Brighton and Hove Albion, however, a move away from Portman Road before the end of the transfer window on Friday still looks to be on the cards.
O'Callaghan's switch to the Withdean Stadium collapsed due to personal terms, but a number of Championship clubs are also interested. QPR and Colchester were linked in Ireland yesterday, while Scunthorpe and Plymouth are mentioned as being interested this morning. The Blues and Sheffield Wednesday have both denied reports linking the Owls with the midfielder.
The player himself says he needs to be in a first team at this stage of his career: "It would be a shame to leave Ipswich because the supporters have been brilliant to me, even though they never saw enough of me, and all the lads are fantastic, but I need to be playing regular football.”
Meanwhile, Town have confirmed that Sammy Moore's loan with Brentford has been extended until January, as reported by TWTD a fortnight ago.
The likes of Dean Bowditch, Matt Richards, Chris Casement, Michael Synnott, Liam Trotter and Jordan Rhodes could also leave Portman Road for short-term spells before Friday.
