No Award for Jim - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton has narrowly avoided the receiving the kiss of death that is the Championship Manager of the Month award.

Magilton was pipped at the post by Coventry boss Iain Dowie, one of his best friends, with Blackpool's Simon Grayson third.

Town and the Sky Blues are joint-top of the Championship at present with seven points and with identical goals scored and conceded records.

Coventry have picked up their seven points via two away wins and a home draw and are still in the Carling Cup, which probably saw Dowie to the award ahead of Magilton, whose side have won twice at home, drew away at Plymouth and were defeated by the MK Dons in the Carling Cup.
