Garvan Called Up - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Owen Garvan has been called into the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for the friendly with Portugal on Friday, September 7th at Turner's Cross in Cork. Striker Billy Clarke was named in the original squad.
Garvan was last named in an U21 squad in February but due to a clash with Town fixtures the 19-year-old was withdrawn. The Dubliner has been named in Irish squads at a number of levels since joining Town full-time as a 16-year-old, but has been forced to pull out on each occasion.
The midfielder told the club site that he's pleased to get the call: "It's been a long time since I have played for Ireland and I'm desperate to get back involved again at international level.”
