Reserves in Action - Ipswich Town News

Town's reserves are in action this afternoon in a game against a Southern Amateur League representative side at the HSBC Sports Club, Beckenham (KO 3pm).

Striker Dean Bowditch continues his comeback after his summer groin surgery, having played 70 minutes of last week's friendly with Bristol Rovers. Brighton are keen to take the former England U19 international on loan but have put their move on hold while the 21-year-old works on his fitness.

The Blues also include Sylvain Legwinski in their side with the Frenchman still short of games after missing much of pre-season while he recovered from the broken metatarsal which sidelined him for the latter part of last season.

Winger Jaime Peters also starts as he pushes for a first team place after his pre-season was interrupted by international duty with Canada's U20s. Matt Richards and Sito are the other senior players involved.

The match is part of the celebrations marking 100 years of the Southern Amateur League in which the Blues competed prior to turning professional in 1936.

Reserves: Andy Plummer, Sito, Matt Richards, Liam Trotter, Ollie Fenn, Michael Synnott, Jaime Peters, Sylvain Legwinski, Dean Bowditch, Jordan Rhodes, Ed Upson. Subs: Curtley Williams, Lewis Ward, Jai Reason, Paul Murphy, Nathan Tooms.
