Villa Will Consider Bids - Ipswich Town News

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill says he will consider sending his young players out on loan to Championship sides. The Blues have been linked with a short-term move for Villa central defender Stephen O'Halloran.

O'Neill says he will take each offer on its merits and has not confirmed Town's interest in the Republic of Ireland international: "I explore any possibility of things that can suit the player and perhaps the club. I'm not talking about any particular player here.

"The minute we sign any player, we get inundated with calls from clubs wanting to loan this and that player. It's as if they're waiting for us to make signings before making a move.

"I'll review the situation and see what might suit both the club and the players."

O'Halloran, 21, was in action for Villa's reserves against West Ham last week, a game watched by Town chief scout Steve McCall.

The central defender or left-back is expected to play for the Irish U21s in a European Championship qualifier in Cork on Friday (Sky Sports Three, 7.30pm). The Blues are likely to send someone to watch the match with Billy Clarke and Owen Garvan also in the squad.
