Upson Gets England Call - Ipswich Town News
Academy midfielder Ed Upson has been called into the England U19 squad for their friendly with Belarus at Notts County's Meadow Lane on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
The 17-year-old, who scored the winner in the final of the 2005 FA Youth Cup, has previously won England caps at U17 and U18 level but this is his first call in an U19 squad.
The Belarus fixture is a warm-up for October's European Championship qualifying games with Iceland, Romania and Belgium, which will be played at Doncaster, Scunthorpe and Barnsley respectively.
