Bowditch in Squad? - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton says he is considering adding striker Dean Bowditch to his squad for Saturday's trip to West Brom. The 21-year-old scored a hat-trick for the reserves against Southend on Monday evening as he continued his comeback from groin surgery.

Top scorer Alan Lee is a doubt ahead of Saturday's game with a hamstring problem, while Danny Haynes will serve the second game of a two-match ban for his recent red card in the reserves, which could leave the Blues short on striking alternatives.

Magilton told the club site that Bowditch could come into his plans: "Having Dean in the squad for Saturday is something I am thinking about."

The Town manager says his medical team will assess Lee's condition as the week progresses: "Our physio team will monitor his situation and he will have treatment today and Thursday with a view to training again at the end of the week.

"We will have a look at him on Friday and be guided by what the medical boys and Alan say."

Coincidentally, Bowditch's last Town first team appearance came as a sub in last October's home game against West Brom, which the Midlanders won 5-1.
