Murphy Left Out - Ipswich Town News
Academy striker Paul Murphy has been left out of the Republic of Ireland side for the final game of their European U17 Championship first qualifying phase mini-group against Slovenia this evening.
Murphy picked up a knock in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Denmark which saw the Irish through to the elite qualifying phase. The first-year academy scholar won his third and fourth U17 international caps in the Denmark match and the earlier 3-1 victory over Ukraine.
The next phase of qualifying will be drawn in November with the matches played next spring. The finals themselves will be played in Antalya, Turkey next May.
