Richards to Join Brighton - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Matt Richards is set to join Brighton and Hove Albion on a month's loan. The Seagulls were first linked with a move for the former England U21 international late last month.
Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "Brighton have approached us over Matt and we are happy for him to go there for a month.
"He needs to be playing first team football and he's not getting that here at the moment. Brighton will provide him with that opportunity."
Richards will be reunited with former Blue Nicky Forster and fellow loanee George O'Callaghan at the Withdean Stadium. The 22-year-old will join-up with Albion prior to Saturday's game at home to Yeovil.
The former academy player's temporary departure leaves the Blues short of natural left-sided midfielders and may suggest that a loanee could be targeted as cover in this area. Last month TWTD reported that chief scout Steve McCall watched promising West Ham winger Kyel Reid in action for the Hammers' reserves.
