Midfielder Matt Richards says he is determined to get back to the form which saw him win an England U21 cap while on loan with Brighton. The 22-year-old, who has made 167 appearances for the Blues scoring nine goals, has joined the Seagulls for a month.
Richards says his career has veered somewhat off track in the years since that England U21 victory over Ukraine at Middlesbrough in August 2004: "Various things have happened to me since then. I haven't had a regular run at Ipswich for a year or two now.
"That is what I've been missing and what I am looking forward to most at Brighton. It will help improve my game.
"I believe in myself and I believe I can play in the Premiership. I'm still very young. I have got a lot of years ahead of me and I am confident I can get there."
Richards is expected to be at left-back on his debut for Albion against Yeovil on Saturday, a game which is likely to see him play alongside fellow loanee George O'Callaghan and ex-Blue Nicky Forster and against former team-mates Marcus Stewart and Darryl Knights.
