Town are being linked with a swoop for Dundee midfielder Gavin Rae. George Burley is reported as having watched the Rangers-Dundee game at Ibrox on Wednesday when the away side won 2-0.
The player has been rated at £7 million by his manager former Grimsby man Ivano Bonetti, but it seems likely that a bid of £2-£3 million would bring the 23-year-old to Portman Road. It seems Rae is the latest target in George Burley's long search for an attacking midfielder. With transfer deadline day (March 28th) just a few days away Town may move swiftly to sign the Scot if this latest link proves to be true.
Aberdeen-born Rae has started 97 games for his club and has scored 11 goals from his midfield position. He has also won Scottish U21 caps since joining the Dark Blues from Hermes Juniors in 1995. Craig Brown has said that he is in line for a call to the full side sooner rather than later.
Rae, 5'11" and 10st 4lbs, had a slow start at Dens Park, but was one of the stars of their season as they finished fifth in the Scottish Premier last season.
