More on Chelsea Rae Link - Ipswich Town News

Dundee are saying this afternoon that they have as yet received no bids for Gavin Rae. Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri, however spoke to Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti after Wednesday's game at Rangers.

Bonetti said of his conversation with the Chelsea coach: "We spoke about the game and how it is coaching in other countries like England and Scotland and I also asked him about Spain, where he has worked. We talked about Gavin but it was nothing, really, and he was only asking about how my young players were playing and not about buying him."

Of the interest in Rae Bonetti said: "I am not surprised there are many people watching him as he is the kind of player all managers want. I believe if he spends more time here his value can be even more, and he is a very important player to us. We will do everything possible to keep him."

Bonetti has suggested put a value of £7 million on the player but it is thought a fee of nearer £3 million might be enough to take him away from Dens Park. Dundee are cash-strapped at the moment and have a policy of selling any players that they can get serious cash for and then bringing in cheaper alternatives.
