Polish Defender on Trial - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands that former Polish international defender Marcin Adamski will spend this week on trial with the Blues. The 33-year-old plays either at left-back or centre-half.

Adamski played youth football with Flota Świnoujście and Warta Poznań but began his senior career with Zagłębie Lubin, where he spent six seasons before switching to Rapid Vienna during 2001/02.

The 6ft 1in tall player was with the Austrian club for five seasons — going on loan to French second division side Angers for part of 2004/05 — during which time he played in the Champions League and won three senior Polish caps.

Adamski was with German second division side Erzgebirge Aue last year, but was released at the end of the season after scoring one goal in 20 games. The Świnoujście-born defender has been without a club since the summer, so would not have been spotted by chief scout Steve McCall on his recent trip to Poland.

In January 2006, Adamski spent time on trial with Derby but was not offered a deal by the Rams.

On Friday, TWTD revealed that the Blues will also be running the rule over former Fulham striker Steve Marlet this week, the 33-year-old having been released by Lorient in the summer.
