Supple Out of Irish Squad - Ipswich Town News

Keeper Shane Supple has been forced to pull out of the Republic of Ireland U21 squad playing a friendly with Sweden in Uppsala on Friday due to a shoulder injury.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "Shane has developed a problem with his shoulder and we have had to pull him out of the squad.

"It's disappointing for him because he was looking forward to going away with the Republic, but it's important for him and us that we investigate what the injury is and act on it."

Supple would have won his first U21 cap had he been involved in the game.

Billy Clarke and Owen Garvan are both still in the squad for the Sweden match and for the European U21 Championship qualifier with England at Turner's Cross in Cork on the following Tuesday.
