Jim Back in for Evans? - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Jim Magilton is reported to have made another loan bid for Manchester United central defender Jonny Evans. Sunderland are also after the Northern Ireland international, having taken him on loan last season.
Magilton enquired about Evans's availability in the summer of 2006 and again just ahead of the winter transfer window, however, the 19-year-old instead joined Roy Keane and Sunderland as they won promotion to the Premiership.
Reports in Northern Ireland claim both clubs have asked Sir Alex Ferguson about Evans's availability with the Blues able to sign the Belfast-born player now on the emergency loan provision, while Sunderland would unable to make a move until the transfer window opens in January.
Magilton has been looking to add a loan central defender to his squad since failing to sign Spaniard César Navas in August.
