Three More Sign New Deals - Ipswich Town News

Further to the Marcus Stewart story from earlier this afternoon some of the younger Town players have signed new deals. Justin Miller, Ashley Nicholls and Lee Beevers are all committing themselves to new contracts, in Beevers' case his first.

George Burley said of Miller and Nicholls, stalwarts of the reserves this season: "Justin Miller and Ashley Nicholls, two young promising players, have agreed to sign until 2002. They have both been regulars and shown great promise in the reserves."

Academy player Lee Beevers was singled out for praise when TWTD talked to George Burley recently: "Lee Beevers is an honest to goodness defender who can play full-back or centre-half. He is comfortable with the ball and wants to compete, so I think he is one to be noted for the future."

Academy Director, Bryan Klug said of the defender, one of the FA Youth Cup side: "I'm very pleased he's committed himself to the club and hopefully he'll be the first of many from his year to be offered this opportunity."

Marcus Stewart will be answering questions on the official website on Tuesday at 1pm. Any questions for the Town striker can be emailed to the club via the official site.
