First England Start for Upson - Ipswich Town News
Academy midfielder Ed Upson made his first start for the England U19s last night as they completed their European Championship preliminary qualifying round games with a 3-1 victory over Belgium at Barnsley.
Upson, who earlier in the week won his second U19 cap as a sub in the 6-0 win against Romania at Doncaster, played 78 minutes before being replaced.
The Town youngster, scorer of the winning goal in the 2005 FA Youth Cup final, will hope to be included in the squad for the elite round of qualifying in the spring.
