Boss Jim Magilton felt the Blues should have grabbed the three points at QPR, despite the home side having the better of the first half of the 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.
Magilton said: "Credit to QPR, they started well and they knocked us out of our rhythm. In the second half we took the game to them, upped the tempo and the quality and probably had enough chances to win it.
"At 1-0 up we should have enough experience in our team to see the game out but we didn't.
"The first away win remains pretty elusive, but if we keep playing like we did in the second half it won't be too far away.
"It was a wonderful goal from Sylvain and he has the talent to do that.
"We have a big week in front of us now with two home games to come, against Wolves and on Tuesday, a big derby against Colchester, and I'm looking for us to maintain our home form and take six points from those two matches."
Town look set to be without Tommy Miller when Colchester visit Portman Road on Tuesday, the midfielder having picked up both knee and ankle injuries before being replaced during the first half.
QPR caretaker-manager Mick Harford was pleased with his side's display: "In the first half I thought we were in control of the game and I said to the players at half-time that we just need a break in the final third.
"Overall it was a very good performance and maybe we deserved more than a point.
"The players have all shown a great attitude and spirit since I've been in charge. At 1-0 down they could have caved in but they didn't. They came back into the game and could have nicked it."
