Kennedy Link - Ipswich Town News

Further to the previous links other sources are reporting that Town are to launch a £1.5 million bid for Manchester City's Mark Kennedy. We've apparently watched him twice in the reserves recently and want to make him the attacking midfielder we've been after for so long.

Kennedy was one of City's stars last season, but hasn't really cut the mustard in the Premiership. He doesn't appear to be the kind of player that George Burley would want to sign with reports of off-field antics appearing occasionally.

Reports this morning also suggest that Town may not now bring in any new players before deadline day on March 22nd, just three days away.

The U19s suffered a bit of thrashing at the weekend when they lost 5-1 at home to Aston Villa. a number of players were rested after the gruelling 2-1 FA Youth Cup win over Forest in the week which could account for the poor result. Town's goal was scored by Darren Ambrose.

The U17s match at Birmingham was called off due to snow. The date of the FA Youth Cup semi-final with Arsenal may be known later in the week. The FA's website were advertising the first date as Saturday, March 17th, however, this was a preliminary date.

We hear a whisper from Merseyside that the Town-Liverpool game, postponed due to the Reds involvement in the FA Cup, may be a future Sky game.

Apparently Sky want to bring the game to live TV on Tuesday April 24th. However, there is no confirmation of this as yet.
