Garvan: Fixtures Too Close Together - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Owen Garvan says Town's players should not have been asked to play two games in three days. The Blues faced Norwich at Carrow Road on Sunday and take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane tonight.
Garvan said: "Two games in less than 48 hours, no matter what age you are, is asking too much for all players, but we have to get on with it.
"I want to play every game and if that means three in a week then I will do that.”
Town asked Sheffield United to move the match to the Wednesday, but the Blades refused.
Meanwhile, former Town boss Joe Royle is reported to be the favourite for the vacant Leicester City job, having been interviewed earlier this week.
Elsewhere, ex-Blues central defender Russell Osman has joined Exeter City's coaching staff until the end of the year. It is unlikely the move will be a permanent one with the former England international keen to continue his media work.
