Rhodes Set for New Loan - Ipswich Town News

Striker Jordan Rhodes is set to make another loan move, this time to a Football League club. Rhodes returned from a month at Blue Square Premier side Oxford United earlier in the week.

Boss Jim Magilton said: "Jordan did well at Oxford in his month there but there is now an opportunity for him to play first team football at a slightly higher level and we feel that is and important step in his development.”

Rhodes made four starts and one sub appearance during his month at the Kassam Stadium, scoring his first two senior goals in the 2-1 FA Cup victory over Merthyr Tydfil, a wobbly video of which is available here.

Meanwhile, former Town chief executive Howard Wells, now in a similar role at the Northern Irish IFA, has reacted angrily to FIFA's proposed solution to the player eligibility row: "I'm extremely surprised about this, in fact I'm staggered.

"All we are asking is for FIFA to implement their own rules consistently to all members of their organisation. This proposal seems to be totally inconsistent with FIFA's own rules and we will be seeking clarification.

"This will be put in the hands of our legal advisors and when we have considered our position, I will take the matter up with FIFA at the very highest level.”
