Youth Cup First Leg - Ipswich Town News

The FA have announced that the first leg of Town's FA Youth Cup semi-final will be played at Highbury on 5th April with a 7pm kick-off. As yet details of the second leg have not been decided, although these should be available later in the week.

Town have told TWTD that as yet they have not yet decided where they are to take their pre-season tour. This will come as a surprise to several Finnish clubs, at least one of whom is already offering tickets for a proposed Town game in the summer.

Finnish Veikkaaja (a weekly sports magazine)and the Yle teletext service have also reported that Town would play in Finland and Estonia in July. According to them (and the clubs involved) Town will play Tampere United on July 18th. They then take on VPS on 20th July, before moving on to FC Flora in Tallinn, Estonia on July 22nd.

However, it seems there has been a failure of communication somewhere along the line and no Town decision has yet been reached on the destination.

Town have toured Scandinavia (and more recently the Baltic states as well) every summer for some years now with two of the sides the Finnish sources are advertising as Town's opponents sides Town played on their tour last year.
