Brown Off on Loan - Ipswich Town News

Town defender Wayne Brown has gone off on loan to QPR for the rest of the season. Brown has hardly played for Town this season due to a mixture of injury and competition for places. Last season he established himself in the first team squad, but he has featured a lot less this season.

The signing of Hermann Hreidarsson, who also plays on the left of central defence, at the beginning of the season must have signalled that chances would be few and far between. Brown has made just four appearances as sub, all in games Town have lost. In total he has made 24 starts for Town (11 sub) and has yet to score a goal. He also made 2 sub appearances for Colchester when on loan in 1997.

Earlier in the season both Wimbledon and Stockport wanted to take the Barking born player on loan with a view to a permanent move. However, a groin injury put pay to either deal.

Of the move Brown said: "I just want to get some first team games under my belt. It's been frustrating for me and I’m very pleased to join QPR."
