Town to Send Out EGM Details - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands that Town will start to send shareholders details of the EGM later this week. The club's 3,792 shareholders will be required to vote on a number of resolutions relating to Marcus Evans's takeover of the club.

The proposed deal will see Evans become the majority 87.5% shareholder in Town in return for a £12 million injection of cash, while he will also purchase £32 million of the club's debt for a figure which is believed to be in the region of £8 million.

Town need to give at least 14 days' notice of the EGM, which we expect to be held on Thursday, 13th December.

This suggests that Marcus Evans has completed the process of due diligence and the deal is moving near to completion.

The club is refusing to confirm that there have been any further developments regarding the takeover, other than to say that progress is continuing.

It is our understanding that the club's AGM will now take place on a date later than the EGM, probably in the new year, with 21 days' notice required ahead of its scheduling.

Although Evans himself is keen to keep out of the limelight, we would expect him to want at least one representative on Town's board, while one or two existing directors may choose to step down.
