Walters Up for Award - Ipswich Town News
Striker-turned-midfielder Jon Walters has been nominated for the Powerade November Championship Player of the Month award. Walters scored five times during the month, including a hat-trick against Bristol City and the first goal in last night's 2-0 victory over Southampton.
The Town man is shortlisted along with Charlton striker Chris Iwelumo, Sheffield Wednesday frontman Akpo Sodje and Hull legend Dean Windass. The winner will be announced by Sky Sports next Monday.
Boss Jim Magilton told club site that Walters deserves the praise he has been getting this season: "Jon has got a great attitude about him.
"He is constantly looking to improve his game and is working hard to achieve that. He is a wonderful player to have at this club and deserves all the plaudits going."
Walters recently scored the Actim Index highest individual match score of the season in the 6-0 victory over Bristol City.
