Jim Looking Forward to Cup Tie - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton has welcomed the chance to take on Premier League opposition when the Blues face Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Cup in January.
Magilton told the club site: "We are at home, which is all you can ask for from a cup draw.
"Portsmouth are a good side. They have had some great results in the Premiership this season, so we know it's going to be a difficult game, but it's one that we are all looking forward to taking on.
"It's Premiership opposition, so it will give us an idea of what we have to do to compete at that level and I think it's an attractive draw for the supporters as well."
The tie will be played on the weekend of January 5th and 6th 2008.
