New Tier Seating - Ipswich Town News

Town have announced that the extra 2,000 tickets, planned to be available on the top tier of the South Stand from the Newcastle game, will go into the existing ballot.

Ticket Office manager Bill Leggate said: "Any additional tickets available for the remainder of the season resulting from the South Stand development will be issued to Portman Plus Ballot members. The number of tickets available and the purchasing arrangements will be announced within the next week following approval of the South Stand seating area by the safety team."

Several Town first team players will be involved in a testimonial match at Braintree Town on Wednesday evening. The game is for Russell Tanner, brother of Adam, who has played more than 450 games for Braintree since his first appearance on Boxing Day 1989.

The game is at Cressing Road (KO 7.30pm) and tickets are available from Braintree Town, from the Prem Football Sport Shop in Braintree or on the gate priced at £5 for adults, £2.50 for concessions.

Town's Academy have been the focus of the Newsnight cameras. The BBC news programme spent a day with Ian Smith and his lads on a piece that looked at both the football side of things and also the off-field activities of the Academy.

The lifestyle skills taught at Football Academies like Town’s are also highlighted with Director Bryan Klug and Head of Education Paul Bartlett giving an insight into some of the courses the club run including ‘Avoiding Alcohol Abuse’ and ‘Drugs Awareness’.

No date has yet been settled for broadcasting the piece, although it is believed it will appear some time in the next two weeks.

Both Academy sides will be away this weekend if the weather holds. The U17s will be at Charlton Athletic. The U19s will be playing Birmingham City.

Town still have some tickets available for the Southampton match. These will go on sale to the general public on Monday 26th March.

Upper Tier tickets cost £24 for adults and Lower Tier are £22 for adults and £9 for children.

Town have another ‘Meet the Player Evening’ at the club’s marquee on March 27th. Marcus Stewart, Alun Armstrong, Keith Branagan, John Scales, John McGreal and Hermann Hreidarsson will be there entertaining more than 120 Blues Crew youngsters.

Martijn Reuser and David Sheepshanks will be at the High Sheriff's Award presentation evening at Suffolk Constabulary. Sheepshanks is the guest speaker at the evening held on March 28th.
