U18s Lose as U16s Run Comes to an End - Ipswich Town News

Town's U18s were defeated 2-1 by Fulham at Playford Road on Saturday morning. The U16 side's superb run of wins came to an end as they were beaten 3-1 by the Cottagers.

Irish U17 international Paul Murphy scored the goal for the U18s from the penalty spot in the 50th minute.

Prior to this weekend's game the U16s had won their last 12 matches, but that run came to an end as Fulham defeated the young Blues 3-1. Connor Wickham, who later came on as a sub for the U18s, netted Town's goal.

The U16s were without regulars Billy Clark and Seb Dunbar who had been called up to the U18s.

U18s: Ward, Clemo, Ainsley, Watson, Dunbar, C Williams, Clark, Reason (Hyam), Tooms (Wickham), Calver, Murphy. Unused: Traveller, Roe, Eastman.
