Reserves Thrash Canaries - Ipswich Town News
Town's reserves continued their 100% start to the season with a 5-1 thrashing of local rivals Norwich City at Carrow Road. Jordan Rhodes netted twice, while Jaime Peters, Liam Trotter and Ed Upson were also on the scoresheet.
Peters opened the scoring in the 17th minute with Rhodes adding the second three minutes later. The 17-year-old striker netted his second of the game four minutes before the break to make it 3-0.
The Canaries were reduced to 10 men early in the second half when Michael Spillane was shown a second yellow card for a wild tackle on Michael Synnott.
Liam Trotter lashed in a 30-yard volley in the 64th minute to make it four with Ed Upson adding the fifth with 15 minutes still left on the clock. Town's Paul Watson put through his own goal in the closing minutes of the match.
