Woods Confirms Robert Watched Blues - Ipswich Town News
Town coach Charlie Woods has confirmed that former Newcastle United winger Laurent Robert was at Saturday's game with Burnley. As reported on Sunday, Robert was spotted by a TWTD Message Board poster having lunch with the former Newcastle chief scout prior to kick-off.
Woods said: "Laurent was staying in London over the weekend and called me so I invited him to the game.
"He has now gone back to France and we have no more to add at the moment.”
The possibility of the 32-year-old former French international joining the Blues on trial has not been ruled out.
Robert, capped nine times by France, is available on a free transfer having settled his contract with Spanish side Levante earlier this month.
