Richards in Squad for Coventry Clash - Ipswich Town News
Returning loanee Matt Richards is the surprise inclusion in Town's squad for Saturday's live Sky game at Coventry City (KO 5.20pm). Richards returned from his three-month spell at Brighton at the end of last week.
The 23-year-old, who the Seagulls want to take on another loan spell in January, looks to be full-back cover with Dan Harding picking up a thigh problem at Leicester on Boxing Day.
Central defender Richard Naylor is not in the squad despite earlier speculation that he could return to the starting line-up at the Ricoh Arena.
Fabian Wilnis now appears likely to continue alongside Jason De Vos at the centre of the defence. Academy frontman Jordan Rhodes, 17, is again included in the travelling party, but again there is no place for midfielder Gary Roberts.
Squad: Alexander, Supple, Casement, Wright, De Vos, Wilnis, Harding, Haynes, Miller, Garvan, Walters, Couñago, Lee, Clarke, Rhodes, Richards, Trotter, Williams.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
