Bowditch Still Wants Town Future - Ipswich Town News

Striker Dean Bowditch says he is confident that his Town career isn't over. The former England U19 international is currently on loan at Northampton and is out of contract at the end of the season.

Bowditch says the Blues are pleased to see him playing regularly and impressing with the Cobblers: "They were happy for me to extend it for another month and as long as I'm playing then they're happy for me to stay.

"I've spoken to Jim Magilton and he's been very good to me, he's given me little tip-offs about when there have been people watching me.

"I've done well in a couple of games and he's told me where I can do better in others.

"It's just about improving. That's why I'm here, to improve and try to get a couple of goals. It improves my confidence and improves the confidence in me that the Ipswich manager has."

The 21-year-old says his future is currently up in the air: "It depends on a lot of things. How I do in the next month, how Ipswich are doing, how many injuries they've got back there.

"If they get a couple of people out, they'll be calling me straight back. It's a funny game. You might play badly one week but then have a blinder the next and you get called back. Stranger things have happened. I'm just working hard on my game and we'll see what happens."

Bowditch has scored twice in five starts and three sub appearances since joining Northampton in late November.
