Town midfielder Liam Trotter has lost his appeal against the red card shown to him by referee Mark Halsey during Saturday's FA Cup third round defeat to Portsmouth.
The youngster now faces a three-game ban for the offence of serious foul play after an FA Regulatory Commission refused to overturn the dismissal.
